Apply for certificates

The following documents can be requested at the registry office:

• Birth certificates
• Marriage certificates
• Death certificates
• Civil partnership certificates
• Certified copies/printouts from the birth register, marriage register, death register for persons born, married or deceased in Kevelaer
• certified copies from the civil partnership register if the civil partnership was established in Kevelaer
• Multilingual extract from the register of births, marriages and deaths (The form contains the following languages: German, English, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Serbian, Greek (translation of the content required!), Turkish and Polish)

Please note that the registry office only keeps civil status entries for certain periods of time:

• Birth books for the last 110 years,
• Marriage registers for the last 80 years and
• Death registers for the last 30 years

For periods further back in time, the civil registers can be found in the local town archive,
Venloer Str. 33-35, 47623 Kevelaer, (0 28 32-12 22 18).

You can request the required certificates from us in person, in writing or digitally via our certificate portal.

Data protection

For data protection reasons, the issue of civil status documents can only be requested from persons to whom the entry in the civil status register relates, as well as from their spouses, life partners, ancestors and descendants (in a direct line).
