Enforcement of claims
Service description
If you have already received a payment reminder and the outstanding debt is not paid by the specified deadline, the case will be forwarded directly to the enforcement agency. The enforcement agency performs the duties of the enforcement authority of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer in accordance with Section 2 of the Administrative Enforcement Act of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Internal enforcement
To avoid the enforcement measures listed below, please contact the person listed on the payment notice immediately upon receipt.
Enforcement in the internal service primarily includes seizure
- movable property including motor vehicles
- of income with the employer
- of payment claims from accounts with financial institutions and from
- other exploitable rights
The enforcement measures listed above incur attachment fees and other enforcement costs, which may be collected by compulsory means without a separate notice. Payments are accepted to prevent attachment or other enforcement measures.
Enforcement measures involving real property—such as forced sale, a compulsory security mortgage, and compulsory administration—are carried out by the competent enforcement court (local court) at the request of the enforcement authority.
As an enforcement authority, the Kevelaer City Treasury has the option of obtaining financial information from a debtor itself or of instructing a bailiff to do so.Enforcement in the field
The collection of monetary claims in the field is carried out by enforcement officers.
They identify themselves with an official ID card and an enforcement order. Only enforcement officers are authorized to collect money on behalf of the Kevelaer City Treasury in the field. Your payment will be properly acknowledged.Payment
You can pay the outstanding balance by bank transfer. To ensure your payment is properly credited, please include the reference number listed in the payment notice.

Administrative assistance
Through administrative assistance, the Kevelaer City Treasury, by virtue of its territorial jurisdiction, does not only collect its own claims. As part of its official services, it also collects claims on behalf of other counties, cities, and municipalities, for example.
