The "Central Services" department of the city administration is mainly responsible for internal matters and takes care of the organization and internal regulations in the administrative buildings. Incoming and outgoing town hall mail is distributed in the mailroom, larger print jobs are completed and procurement processes are handled, such as the purchase of office equipment and office materials. The Central Procurement Office within this department carries out various procurement procedures and supports the departments in tendering processes. A funding management system has been set up to make optimum use of grant opportunities for projects.
Central Services is also the point of contact for all matters relating to the City Council. The Council Office manages the electronic council information system, prepares invitations for council and committee members and transfers expense allowances to council members. The mayor's secretariat is also part of the department, as is the city archive. The town archive is the "memory of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer". It is located in the former artists' house at Venloer Straße 33 - 35 and is responsible for storing, organizing and indexing documents of legal and historical importance to the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer and the town administration.
