Kleve district

Submit district election proposals for the Bundestag election by January 20, 6 p.m.

At the end of last year, the Federal President dissolved the Bundestag and set the date for the early Bundestag election for Sunday, February 23, 2025. At the same time, the Federal Ministry of the Interior shortened the statutory deadline for submitting nominations for the Bundestag election to the 34th day before the election. District election proposals for the Bundestag election on February 23, 2025 must therefore be received by the district returning officer, Nassauerallee 15-23, 47533 Kleve (Room E.151 or E.153) by 6 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the latest.

Parties wishing to participate with a district election proposal in constituency 111 - Kleve must submit the original election proposal with the necessary signatures and documents before the deadline. Electronic submission is not sufficient. If parties require so-called supporting signatures for submission, these must be submitted with the necessary signatures and certificates from the municipal authorities.

"This is a cut-off period," emphasizes district electoral officer Christoph Gerwers. "However, in order to have sufficient time for a preliminary examination and any rectification of defects, it is strongly recommended that you do not exhaust the deadline, but contact your colleagues at the Kleve district electoral office in good time."

Further information can be found in the announcement "Election to the 21st Bundestag - Invitation to submit district election proposals for the election in constituency no. 111 - Kleve", which has also been published on the Kleve district website www.kreis-kleve.de (button "Bekanntmachungen" at the bottom of the page).

In the Bundestag election on February 23, 2025, voting will take place in around 260 postal and polling districts in the district of Kleve. Eligible voters can cast their first vote for a constituency candidate and their second vote for a party's state list. Around 2,100 electoral assistants will be working in the postal and polling districts in the Kleve district during the election. "I would like to thank all those who are contributing to the smooth running of the election and the counting of votes through their efforts," says District Chief Electoral Officer Christoph Gerwers.
