- Business registration required at:
- Relocation of the registered office or the registered office of a branch or dependent branch within the jurisdiction of a municipality
- Modification or extension of the goods or services offered
- Change of name of the trader
- The following persons or their representatives must re-register:
- for sole traders: by the trader himself or herself
- for legal entities: by the legal representatives, e.g. GmbH, AG
- In the case of partnerships: by all partners authorized to manage the company, e.g. OHG, KG, GbR, GmbH & Co. KG
- If the registered office is moved to another municipality, the business only needs to be registered at the new location; deregistration at the old location is automatic

Service description
If you wish to relocate the registered office of your company within the area of responsibility of the municipality previously responsible, you must re-register your business. The same applies if you change the location of your registered office or the location of a branch or dependent branch office.
If you change your business activity, you must re-register your business. This is the case, for example, if in future you offer goods or services in your business exclusively or additionally that are not customary in relation to your registered trade.
In addition, you must re-register your business if your name as a trader changes.
The re-registration must be carried out by the following persons or their authorized representatives:
- for sole traders: by the trader himself or herself
- for legal entities: by the legal representatives; this applies, for example, to limited liability companies (GmbH) and public limited companies (AG)
- in the case of partnerships: from all partners authorized to manage the company: this applies, for example, to general partnerships (OHG), partnerships limited by shares (KG), partnerships under civil law (GbR), limited liability companies (GmbH & Co. KG)
If you move your place of business to another municipality, you must register your business at the new location. Your old location will be automatically deregistered. This is not a re-registration.

One of the following points applies to you:
- You relocate the registered office, a branch or a dependent branch office within the jurisdiction of a municipality
- You change or expand the goods and services offered The name of the trader changes.
