Bees and wasps
Service description
According to the Federal Species Protection Ordinance, all native bee and bumblebee species, the hornet and all native gyro wasps and button horn wasps are specially protected in Germany. This means that these animals may not be killed , injured or their nests destroyed (Section 44 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act).
In special cases, such as nests in roller shutter boxes, it can be checked whether control is justified or whether there are reasonable alternatives. An exemption from the prohibitions of the Federal Nature Conservation Act must be applied for from the lower nature conservation authority.
If your case does not require a permit for control because it is not a protected species (e.g. German wasp and common wasp) or if the nature conservation authority has granted you an exemption, contact a pest controller.
The fire department does not remove wasp nests etc.
What fees apply?
Any fees that may be incurred can be obtained from the district administration or the pest control company.
