Registration at an elementary school in the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer is possible in the period from September 29, 2025 to October 10, 2025. Parents/guardians will receive an information letter with instructions and the required start code slip. This year, the online portal "Schulbewerbung.de" will be used for the first time. Please note that an appointment must be made with the secretary's office of the respective school for the application. You will find the relevant information in the information disk.
Parents/guardians can register their child at an elementary school of their choice, subject to availability. However, there is only an entitlement to admission to the elementary school closest to the child's home. Admission to a more distant school is possible if there are still places available.
When registering at the Overberg / St. Norbert primary school network, the school management decides at which location the child will attend school.
If children of compulsory school age have not been registered by mistake and the legal guardians have not received any notification, they are requested to contact the school administration office of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer using the contact details below by September 19, 2025.
Children who turn six after September 30, 2025 can start school early at the request of their parents or guardians. The prerequisite for this is that they have the necessary physical and mental requirements and are sufficiently developed in their social behavior. This requires an appointment at the respective elementary school. The decision on early enrolment is made by the school management, taking into account the school doctor's report.
