Safety measure:
Felling of diseased trees

The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer would like to point out that two protected trees directly in front of the candle chapel will unfortunately have to be felled. This decision was made because the trees are no longer stable due to an internal fungal disease, even if they still look healthy from the outside.

The felling of the trees is planned for 01.07.2025. The necessity of this measure is very regrettable, but the safety of citizens comes first.

Replacement planting is to take place.
