The Kevelaerer Mittagstreff has been the place to go for afternoon care for schoolchildren for years. It currently looks after 72 children from year 5 to 10 (grammar school and comprehensive school). The Mittagstreff is one of around 3,000 initiatives that the drugstore chain dm is supporting this summer as part of its "Lust an Zukunft!" campaign.
The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer and the Mittagstreff invite you to vote for the Mittagstreff with a virtual heart at https://www.lust-an-zukunft.de/initiatives/4705 from July 25 to August 14. On-site voting for the Mittagstreff will take place at the dm supermarket, Lindenstraße 63, 47623 Kevelaer.
Each dm store has selected two initiatives to vote for. After the voting period, the votes cast digitally and in the dm store will be added together. In each dm store, the project with the most votes will receive a donation of 600 euros and the runner-up 400 euros.
"If we win, our children would like to go to an amusement park. They would also like seating and outdoor play areas," says Holger van Elten, head of the lunch club in Kevelaer, about the children's wishes.
For the campaign, the Kevelaerer Mittagstreff has created an introductory video with impressions of everyday life at the Mittagstreff. The video can be found on the city's website: https://www.kevelaer.de/bildung-soziales/schulen/mittagstreff/
