Purpose of data processing

The purpose of data processing is to process your application for a parking exemption permit for the city of Kevelaer, in particular for social service activities and assembly and repair work.

This includes in particular:

  • Checking whether the requirements for granting a special permit in accordance with the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) are met,
  • the recording and evaluation of information on the applicant, company and vehicles used,
  • the preparation, issue and documentation of the exemption or rejection notice,
  • contact in the event of queries.

Your data will be processed exclusively for the purpose of processing your application (earmarking).

Main legal basis

Your personal data is processed on the following legal basis:

  • Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c) GDPR (fulfillment of a legal obligation),
  • § Section 46 of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) - exemptions,
  • §§ Sections 44, 45 StVO (where applicable),
  • the relevant provisions of road traffic law and the local authority regulations.

Recipients and categories of recipients of the data

Your personal data will only be processed within the scope of data protection law. Recipients may be in particular

  • internal departments of the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer within the scope of processing,
  • the local regulatory authority or traffic control authority (to check the permit),
  • the North Rhine-Westphalia police, insofar as this is necessary to monitor stationary traffic or to avert danger.

Data is not transferred to third countries.

Duration of storage and retention periods

Your data will be stored for the duration of the entire application and approval process.
The statutory municipal retention periods then apply. As a rule, the retention period is as follows:

  • 5 years after the end of the calendar year of the decision (in accordance with municipal retention guidelines).

After this period has expired, your personal data will be deleted unless there are legal grounds for longer storage.

Rights of the data subject

Your rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data transfer and objection regarding the personal data collected are expressly pointed out at this point. The legal basis for this is Articles 15 to 21 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and Sections 49 and 50 of the NRW State Data Protection Act.
