Purpose of data processing
Your personal data is processed in order to fulfill the legal obligation to notify in accordance with § 11 para. 1 LHundG NRW. The purpose is to perform regulatory tasks in the area of hazard prevention, in particular to check the reliability of dog owners, to comply with animal protection and regulatory regulations and to reconcile tax reporting obligations in accordance with the municipal dog tax statutes. Your personal data to be processed in this context is earmarked, i.e. it is only used for the purpose for which it was collected.
Main legal basis
Your personal data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c and lit. e GDPR in conjunction with § 11 para. 1 of the North Rhine-Westphalia State Dog Law (LHundG NRW), §§ 8, 11 LHundG NRW in conjunction with the implementing ordinances issued in this regard. In this way, we fulfill the statutory reporting obligation for large dogs and perform sovereign tasks in the area of hazard prevention.
Recipients and categories of recipients of the data
Your data will only be processed by Department 4.3 in accordance with data protection legislation. Personal data will not be transferred to third countries.
Duration of storage and retention periods
The personal data is stored for the duration of the dog ownership. At the end of this period, the data will be stored in accordance with the retention periods stipulated by state law, in particular in accordance with Section 11 (1) LHundG NRW in conjunction with municipal and budgetary regulations (e.g. retention periods in accordance with Section 13 (2) of the Ordinance on the Budgeting of Municipalities - GemHVO NRW). As a rule, the retention period is 5 to 10 years after the purpose of processing no longer applies. After this period, the data will be deleted, provided that there are no further statutory retention obligations.
Rights of the data subject
Your rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data transfer and objection regarding the personal data collected are expressly pointed out at this point. The legal basis for this is Articles 15 to 21 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and Sections 49 and 50 of the NRW State Data Protection Act.
