In the last few days, an email was sent in the name of our mayor Dr. Dominik Pichler containing a request for payment. Please note: Neither we as the city administration nor our mayor would request payments in this way.
These messages are phishing emails - i.e. attempts at fraud, which are currently also increasingly affecting local authorities.
How to protect yourself:
- Do not react - do not click on any links and do not open any attachments.
- Make sure that emails from us always end with @kevelaer.de. ️
- If in doubt, please call us or write to us if you are unsure.
