The district of Kleve is looking for new foster families who would like to take in a child or young person. This can be on a temporary or permanent basis. The foster care service of the Kleve District Youth and Family Department invites interested parties to a non-binding information evening on the subject of "Becoming a foster carer". On this evening, guests will have the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information about the tasks, challenges and opportunities of foster parenthood and to clarify any unanswered questions.
The information evening will take place on November 24, 2025, from 6 to 8 pm. The venue is the Geldern branch of the Youth and Family Department at Issumer Str. 53-55 in Geldern (entrance at the Volksbank office). Participation in the information evening is free of charge. However, the organizers ask you to register by 14 November 2025 by e-mail to pflegefamilien@kreis-kleve.de.
The following program is planned for the evening:
- Presentation of the foster care system: overview of the legal framework for foster parenting and the process of fostering a child
- Examination procedure and requirements: Who can become a foster family?
- Exchange: Open round to clarify concerns and questions.
- Support services: Information on measures and counseling services for foster parents.
