Our working group
In the working group of equal opportunities officers in the district of Kleve, we work closely together to strengthen prevention, education and support services. We coordinate events, information stands and awareness-raising campaigns around the day of action and jointly draw attention to regional support options.
Actions in the Kleve district - overview
Throughout the district of Kleve, we set visible signs around the International Day against Violence against Women and offer a wide range of information and hands-on activities.
- Cleves
In Kleve, the campaign will kick off on November 22, 2025 with "Zonta says No!" at the fish market - an information market that invites people to exchange ideas. This will be followed on December 1, 2025 in the town hall by the symposium "Municipal protection against violence in the district of Kleve", which will bring together experts from various fields.
- Goch
In Goch, we will be holding an information stand in front of the Edeka Kusenberg store on November 21, 2025 to provide information on the day of action. In addition, two free self-assertion courses for women will be held on December 12 and 13, 2025, led by a violence prevention trainer.
- Weeze
On November 21, 2025, we will be available for discussions in front of the Reffeling bakery in Weeze and will be handing out information material.
- Kalkar
An exhibition will be shown in Kalkar Town Hall around the day of action, drawing attention to different forms of violence.
"Orange the City" in the circle
Many town halls and the district hall are also taking part in the international "Orange the City" campaign, in which buildings are illuminated in orange or orange flags are hoisted. Numerous local institutions and businesses are also joining in, sending out a joint signal against violence against women.
Our activities in the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer - Information stand on Peter-Plümpe-Platz
On November 25, 2025, we will have a large information stand on Peter-Plümpe-Platz from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. Together with other equal opportunities officers from the district of Kleve as well as specialists from the SKF, the women's advice center Impuls, the Kleve district police authority (victim protection), Caritas and Diakonie, we will provide information about regional support and assistance services. We answer questions, provide contact points and are available for personal discussions.
We are also calling for Orange Day again this year. We look forward to the participation of associations, companies, institutions and private individuals who want to send a visible signal against violence - be it through orange-lit buildings, decorated windows or creative actions that are captured in photographs.
You can register and submit your contributions via www.kevelaer.de/orangedays. We publish the actions on our website and show together: We stand for a non-violent future.
