The pilgrimage town of Kevelaer is relying on proven expertise from its own ranks: Sebastian Swertz, a native of Kevelaer and long-standing employee of our municipal administration, will take over as head of the local audit department from September. He succeeds Frank Peulen, who previously held this position and is now taking on a new challenge.
A professional career with depth and continuity
Sebastian Swertz began his career in 1998 with an apprenticeship as an administrative assistant at the Kevelaer municipal administration, which he successfully completed in 2001. He further qualified for demanding specialist and management tasks in the public sector with the administrative course II in 2005.
Since then, he has held various positions in the area of finance - initially as a clerk in the "subsidies" department, later as deputy head of the city treasury, most recently with responsibility for payment processing and as a central contact in enforcement. With over 20 years of experience in municipal finance, Mr. Swertz brings extensive expertise and a high level of professional competence to his new role.
"For me, Kevelaer is not just my workplace - this is where I have my professional roots. I look forward to continuing to use my experience for the pilgrimage town in a new role," says Sebastian Swertz.
Trust and expertise
Mayor Dr. Dominik Pichler is delighted with the new internal appointment: "Mr. Swertz knows the structures of our administration better than almost anyone else. His many years of experience and his commitment make him the ideal candidate to head the local audit department. I look forward to working with him and wish him every success in his new role."
