Construction has been underway at Peter-Plümpe-Platz for around a year. The construction work is visibly progressing. The road behind the town hall and Annastrasse have already been paved. The Green Forum, playgrounds and the new citizens' square are also almost complete. Reason enough to celebrate this stage with the citizens of Kevelaer and say "thank you"!
The pilgrimage town and Stadtwerke Kevelaer therefore cordially invite you to the construction site party on Friday, October 11, from 4 p.m. on Peter-Plümpe-Platz. The party will be held on the new Bürgerplatz (on Annastrasse). DJ Maddis will provide relaxed lounge music and Mr. Lehmann's team will provide guests with delicious food and drinks. Food and drink are free for visitors on the day - while stocks last!
"During the renovation work, there were also a few restrictions for residents. Be it road closures, changed walking and driving routes or the loss of parking facilities. With the construction site festival, the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer would like to thank the citizens for their patience," says Mayor Dr. Dominik Pichler.
The redesign of Peter-Plümpe-Platz is the largest part of the town center renewal project. The redesign will divide the square into two areas: A recreational area with a playground, water feature and catering area will be created on the side facing Annastrasse at Bürgerplatz. The Green Forum will become an inviting lawn area with trees that invites people to relax or play. Towards Marktstrasse, a multifunctional square is being created that will serve as a parking lot but will also be used for larger events such as funfairs or city festivals.
