    You have the option of having copies of certain documents, such as documents and certificates, as well as your signature notarized at the Citizens' Office. However, a signature may only be notarized if it is made in the presence of the clerk.

    For certifications or copies of civil status documents such as birth, death, marriage or civil partnership certificates, please contact the relevant registry office.

    • Copy (can be made at the citizens' office if necessary)

    for the notarization of signatures:

    • current identity document
  • Costs

    • Notarization of a document: € 4.20
    • Notarization of a signature: € 2.50
    • Copy: 0,70 €
    • from the 11th copy: 0,40 €

    The certification is free of charge if it is submitted to the German pension fund and the pension institutions of the member states of the European Union.
